History

Dawg Daze has been a longstanding tradition of the University of Washington and is one of the nation’s largest weeks of welcome!

The UW created Dawg Daze to:

  • build a sense of community & belonging among new students
  • engage students in the academic life of the UW, driven by principles of discovery, inquiry, possibility and opportunity
  • facilitate connections between new students, departments, and organizations based on shared interests, aspirations and identities
  • rejuvenate a sense of community & belonging among UW faculty, administrators, staff & current students

Annually, Dawg Daze is host to more than 250 events, from more than 60 departments and student organization representing the campus’ diverse array of resources and opportunities to get involved and connected.
