You’ll receive a final copy of the Dawg Daze schedule of events at Check-In. Be sure to check in for Dawg Daze when you first arrive on campus! Your Schedule of Events and Dawg Pass/Visual Schedule will both help you choose which events and workshops you want to attend throughout the next week.

They are necessary experiences for students starting out at UW: making friends, connecting with professors, finding your passion and learning the keys to balance are the recipes for success as a UW student. We’ve created these Key Events to help you craft your own path – so don’t miss out on what everybody will be talking about on the first day of school!

CLUE Trivia Night

Don't have quite enough homework after the first day of class to come to CLUE for the tutors? Well, why not come for the food, games, and great prizes instead? Its students versus tutors in the seventh annual CLUE Trivia Night! Study up on current events, pop culture, and random useless information and then bring a team of friends or come alone and we will assign you to a team for the competition. Sign-ups for the competition start at 6:30pm and the competition begins at 7:00pm. Great prizes for first, second, and third place!

Join the Washington tradition and kick off the 2014 Dawg Daze as a part of the UW community. Get ready to be welcomed to campus, to be entertained, and to connect with other students at the UW. This event is a required event for all new freshmen and transfer students. Immediately following, you'll meet for Peer Connections with a student leader, or if you're in a First-year Interest Group (FIG) or Transfer FIG , then you will meet with your FIG Leader. Meet current students eager to show you the ropes. Check-in begins at 1:30pm!

The ECC staff kicks off the year of community building with an exciting evening of games and excitement at our annual block party! All students are invited to attend this fun-filled event which has something for everyone. Student organizations affiliated with the ECC and incoming students join the ECC staff in celebrating the beginning of the school year in the Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center, which opened as a state of the art cultural center and theatre in January 2013. Highlights of the block party will include: A photo booth, dance dance revolution, carnival food (popcorn, cotton candy & hot dogs), food trucks, live music, games, henna and caricature artists and student organization tabling. Come out and see what fun we have at the ECC!

Get a behind the scenes tour of the ECC Theatre, hear ghost stories about the alleged "Ghost of the ECC" and register for a chance to win two tickets to an upcoming show!

Late Night Shopping at Fred Meyer

Stock up on the supplies you need to start school. You're invited to a special UW student-only late-night event at Fred Meyer Superstore. Free music, food, drinks, and a chance to win a $500 Fred Meyer gift card! Make sure you bring your UW student ID card or your Dawg Pass to get in the door, and receive a special savings certificate to buy anything from groceries to dorm essentials. All you have to do is show up at the flagpole on Memorial Way or at NE Campus Pkwy and Brooklyn Ave on West Campus starting as early as 7:45 pm, and free bus shuttles will take you back and forth. If you have a car, you can also drive to Fred Meyer-Ballard, 915 Northwest 45th Street, Seattle, WA 98107.

The Student Activities Fair is an opportunity for registered student organizations (RSOs) to promote themselves, attract new members, and network with other campus groups. There are over 900 RSOs on file in the Student Activities Office. Many of these groups, ranging from academic to sports, will be at this year's fair. Come check out the groups taking part in the Student Activities Fair at Red Square!
